China Environmental Protection Federation, together with two environmental protection organizations, submitted a written statement to the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council

The 46th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council was officially held on February 22, from February 22 to March 19. As a national environmental NGO with special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, all China Environment Federation registered to participate in the conference and formally submitted a written speech to the United Nations on the eve of the conference.

We are fully aware of the importance of promoting environmental protection and safeguarding public environmental rights and interests in protecting human rights. In order to fully reflect the efforts made by China's environmental protection NGOs in promoting environmental protection and safeguarding public environmental rights and interests, we have joined hands with two environmental protection NGOs (Hulunbuir environmental protection volunteer association and Tianjin Ecological Ethics Education Promotion Association) to convey the voice of China's environmental protection non-governmental organizations to the United Nations and the international community, and to show China's environment, according to their respective good practices in environmental protection The growth and development of non-governmental organizations of environmental protection, the efforts made by Chinese non-governmental forces in promoting the protection of environmental rights and interests, and the support needed in the future.

1. Over the years, China Environmental Protection Federation has made great efforts and main work in promoting the protection of public environmental rights and interests

More than 30 cases of environmental public interest litigation have been actively carried out, and many classic cases have been selected into the communique of the Supreme People's court, guiding cases, ten typical cases of annual environmental resources trial, etc.; 30 times of environmental law publicity have been carried out at the grassroots level, and more than 10 environmental risk prevention and emergency training have been carried out for hundreds of enterprises in industrial parks; four sessions of national college students' environmental resources simulation court have been held Each session of the competition was attended by 16 colleges and universities across the country. In order to jointly promote the protection of environmental rights and interests, a legal expert committee composed of 22 well-known environmental law experts was set up, a team of 449 volunteer lawyers and 138 volunteer law firms were recruited, and an excellent volunteer lawyer Alliance composed of 23 lawyers was established to promote environmental rights and interests in a diversified way To promote the development and progress of the cause of protecting environmental rights and interests.

2. The increasing development and capacity enhancement of local environmental protection NGOs in China and their important role in promoting local environmental protection:

Sarula (meaning: bright) green partnership project of Hulunbuir environmental protection volunteer association of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region: 158 groups participated in the project, covering natural education, biodiversity protection, public participation in environmental protection, ecological and environmental protection volunteer service and other fields. Since its establishment, the association has provided 13840 person times and 53200 hours of volunteer service.

Tianjin Ecological Ethics Education Promotion Association's environmental protection facilities open to the public work: recruit environmental protection facilities guides, stimulate public attention and participation in environmental protection, cooperate with Tianjin five district ecological environment bureau, primary and secondary schools, social organizations, etc., since August 2019, organize the public to visit Tianjin environmental protection facilities open to the public units, visit Tianjin Ecological Environment Monitoring Center More than 1400 members of the public visited the environmental protection facilities in Tianjin.
