    Wang Hao, born in August 1953, graduated from Tsinghua University in 1989 and obtained a doctorate. He is currently director of the National Key Laboratory of water cycle simulation and regulation in the basin, honorary director of Water Resources Institute of Chinese Academy of water sciences and senior engineer at professor level. He also serves as vice president of global water partners (China), vice president of Innovation Methods Research Association and vice president of China Society of natural resources.

    He was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2005.

▶ Contribution, honor

    He has been engaged in hydrology and water resources research for a long time. He has presided over and completed dozens of national projects, other departments and local projects, as well as a number of World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international cooperation projects. He has served as chief scientist of national 973 project and academic leader of innovation group fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China. A series of innovative breakthroughs have been made in the basic cognitive model and simulation technology of basin water cycle, water resources evaluation and allocation theory and method, water resources engineering system planning method, water resources scheduling and management technology, which actively promote the new development of water resources discipline. It has been successfully applied in national and local water resources planning, planning and operation of South to North Water Diversion Project, super large and cascade hydropower stations in the upper reaches of the Three Gorges Project. It has won 6 second prizes of national science and technology progress and 19 provincial and ministerial awards. He has published more than 20 monographs, won China Book Award once, and published more than 300 papers, including 120 SCI and EI retrieved papers. And won the national "advanced workers", the central state organs "May 1" labor medal and many other honors.
