Profile

   Yang Zhifeng, born on August 20, 1963 in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, is an expert in environmental ecological planning and restoration, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, Dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of School of environment, Beijing Normal University, and director of Key Laboratory of water and sediment science, Ministry of education.

    Yang Zhifeng graduated from the Department of water conservancy engineering of Hebei Agricultural University in 1982, obtained a doctor's degree from Tsinghua University in 1989, taught in the Institute of environmental science of Beijing Normal University in 1992, served as the director of science and Technology Department of Beijing Normal University in 1995, the director of the Institute of Environmental Science of Beijing Normal University in 1999, and the dean of the school of environment of Beijing Normal University in 2004; In 2006, he was supported by the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars; in 2011, Yang Zhifeng, the research group with academic leader, was selected as the innovation research group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China; in 2015, he was elected as an academician of the Department of environment and textile engineering, Chinese Academy of engineering.

    Yang Zhifeng's research direction is water resources and water environment, ecological environment planning and management, water quality simulation method, environmental system engineering, solid waste disposal and resource utilization.

Character experience

•In 1978, yangzhifeng was admitted to the Department of water conservancy engineering, Hebei Agricultural University. In 1982, he graduated from the University and obtained a Bachelor of engineering degree.

•In 1986, he graduated from the Department of civil engineering of Dalian University of technology and obtained a master's degree in engineering.

•In 1989, he graduated from the Department of water conservancy and Hydropower Engineering of Tsinghua University and obtained a doctorate.

•In 1990, he entered the Department of mechanics of Peking University for postdoctoral research.

•In 1992, he joined the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Beijing Normal University to teach, and successively served as associate professor (1992-1993), Professor (1993 -), and doctoral supervisor.

•In 1993, he was a visiting researcher in the Department of civil engineering and mechanical engineering, University of Hong Kong Institute of Technology (-1995). He joined the Chinese Democratic Alliance in the same year.

•In 1995, he served as the director of science and Technology Department of Beijing Normal University (-1999).

•In 1999, he served as the director of the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Beijing Normal University (-2004).

•In 2004, he served as the dean of the Environmental College of Beijing Normal University.

•In 2006, it was funded by the National Science Fund for distinguished young people.

•In 2011, the research group of "watershed water environment, water ecology and comprehensive management" with yangzhifeng as the academic leader was selected as the innovation research group of the National Natural Science Foundation Committee. In the next three years, the group will receive the funding of 6 million yuan from the National Natural Science Foundation Committee.

•In December 2015, he was elected academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, affiliated to the Ministry of environment and textile engineering.

Main achievements

• Summary of scientific research

    Yang Zhifeng is mainly engaged in the research of environmental and ecological planning and restoration. He has made a number of technical breakthroughs in the engineering technology of river basin ecological water demand guarantee, wetland and urban environmental ecological construction, and made important contributions to improving the technical level of river basin, wetland and urban environmental ecological protection.

    With the goal of maintaining ecosystem health, Yang Zhifeng has made a number of forward-looking and key technological breakthroughs in the aspects of ecological water demand theory and method, watershed ecological water demand guarantee and urban ecological planning and management for the environmental and ecological problems of major projects, key river basins and key cities in China, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects: 1) pioneering research on ecological water demand based on ecosystem health Based on the theory of water threshold, a multi-scale ecological water demand calculation model was proposed, and the research system of ecological water demand theory and method was developed. 2) the research on the guarantee of ecological water demand in the basin was carried out at the three levels of renewable supply, water demand allocation and ecological regulation, which promoted the development of ecological protection and restoration technology; 3) Taking the lead in introducing ecological water demand theory into urban water ecological planning and management, the urban water ecological evaluation and planning methods have been expanded, and a series of new technologies of urban ecological evaluation simulation planning regulation have been developed.

    In 2006, as the chief scientist, he undertook the national 973 Program "water ecological process, water environmental effect and ecological security regulation of wetlands in Huang Huai Hai region". The project established a set of wetland theory integrating River, lake, estuary and other wetland systems, solved a series of basic scientific problems faced by China's wetland research, and effectively coordinated regional socio-economic development and wetland protection The contradiction between them.

• Reward for scientific research achievements & project commitment

    In 1993, Yang Zhifeng began to preside over the projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and successively undertook two key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, three general (Youth) projects and national science foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars; by 2015, Yang Zhifeng had won three second prizes of national science and technology progress, one second prize of National Natural Science and 10 first prizes of provincial (ministerial) level.

• Papers and works & patent invention

    As of 2017, Yang Zhifeng has published more than 20 Chinese and English academic monographs and textbooks; More than 400 papers have been published, including more than 200 SCI papers, 20 of which are positively reported by American authoritative scientific and technological media vertical news. They are considered to have carried out extremely meaningful research from ecological water conservancy, environmental ecological simulation and other cutting-edge fields, which is of great significance for knowledge updating, mechanism elaboration and continuous expansion of new perspectives in this field. More than 20 national invention patents have been authorized.

    As of 2012, Yang Zhifeng has trained more than 80 doctoral students, more than 40 master students and 10 postdoctoral students. In 2002, Yang Zhifeng won the fourth Ministry of Education Award for young university teachers.
