In recent water source emergency pollution accidents in China, as the technical director of the expert group of the Ministry of construction, the emergency water supply work in the event of water pollution such as Songhua River nitrobenzene water pollution in November 2005, cadmium pollution in Beijiang River in Guangdong in December 2005, Wuxi drinking water event in May 2007 and drinking water incident in Qinhuangdao in June 2007 were successfully carried out.

    In terms of drinking water treatment theory and technology, it organized a number of domestic scientific research institutions to carry out the research on the safety assurance technology and process system of drinking water in northern China, and carried out a number of drinking water treatment technology research, which improved the removal effect of organic matter, ammonia nitrogen, odor substance, disinfection by-product and its precursor.

   The new technology of sequential chlorination disinfection of short-term free chlorine and then chloroamine was put forward for the first time at home and abroad, which realized the dual control of microorganism and disinfection by-products economically and effectively.

   Firstly, the paper puts forward the problem of water quality stability control in drinking water transportation and distribution, and puts forward the discrimination basis, influencing factors and control measures for biological and chemical stability of water quality of the pipeline network.

    Pay attention to the study of odor in drinking water, find for the first time that there are thiols and thioether in the heavily polluted water source water. The systematic research on the removal characteristics of all kinds of odor substances is carried out, which provides technical support for the treatment of the odor problems of tap water caused by water pollution and the high-quality drinking water under the general water source conditions.

    Zhang Xiaojian has successively undertaken the national sixth five year plan scientific and technological research project "urban sewage treatment and reuse", national Seventh Five Year Plan scientific and technological research project "urban sewage reuse technology research", national eighth five year plan scientific and technological research topic "treatment technology and technology of industrial wastewater containing refractory organic matter", National Ninth Five Year scientific and technological research topic "integrated technology and equipment for purification of polluted water source water", National Natural Science and technology The research of the research project "micro cluster structure of drinking water" of the academic foundation, among which the "Research on the technology of urban sewage reuse" won the second prize of national science and technology progress, the first prize of science and technology progress of the National Educational Commission, the third prize of Beijing municipal drinking water disinfection, disinfection by-products and biological stability relationship research project, and the provincial and ministerial awards of "special government allowance" and 10 provincial and ministerial awards 66 scientific research papers were published. Comrade Zhang Xiaojian has a keen academic thought in scientific research, and has made outstanding research results in the theory and technology of drinking water micro pollution treatment, water quality science and technology, and the mechanism and technology of industrial wastewater treatment with refractory organic matter. The scientific research achievements have reached the international advanced level, and have a comprehensive and profound understanding of the strategic issues such as sustainable development, water environment protection and water industry
